Dental Expenses Deter Regular Check-ups

New Zealanders are most wary of dentists and scored the lowest in regular dental check ups because of the huge costs that entail according// to the findings of an international dental health survey that was conducted in 29 European and Australasian countries.

Otago University's periodontology senior lecturer, Dr Theresa Madden, revealed that only 40-percent of people underwent regular dental check ups in New Zealand as against 62% in the other countries that participated in the survey. Nearly 55% of those who did not pay regular visits to the dentists said they were rather apprehensive of the costs that will follow a visit.
