Turkey that is on the migratory route of wild birds had so far not witnessed any human causality due to bird flu.

But the latest news about the death of a 14-year-old boy has raised doubts. So far // causalities were reported only in Asia with the death toll about 70.

The health minister of Turkey denies the rumors about bird flu being the cause of death of the Turkish boy. The boy was hospitalized along with his brother and three sisters.

They were suffering from fever, heavy coughing and bleeding of the throats.

When tested for H5N1 strain the children were negative.

But the death of the boy still remains a mystery. The death cannot be attributed to bird flu or to any other flu virus.
br> The hospital in which he was admitted said that he was suffering from pneumonia. The boy was living in a poultry farm and it also had a lot of birds being affected with bird flu.

The children had contracted the disease and fell ill after consuming a sick bird. One of the siblings was also found to be very serious.

So far there had been no human causalities due to H5N1 strain of bird flu. But now after the death of the Turkish boy the health ministry had stepped up the surveillance network and is keenly monitoring the disease.

The main reason being that if the virus mutates and spreads among humans it would result in total chaos.
