American rocker Courtney Love looked shockingly thin during her performance at Hiro Ballroom on July 12 in New York City, and even cracked a joke about her emaciated appearance.

The former Hole singer stopped between songs and took a sip from a protein shake, then apologized to the crowd, saying that she "had to take care of my eating disorder."

"I requested Ensure shakes for my anorexia. You're going to have to wait for my eating disorder. Its getting kinda spooky but the free clothes are great, Us Weekly quoted her, as saying.

The 43-year-old singer has also said that she's been trying to quit smoking, but she chain-smoked throughout the concert before the audience that included hotelier Andre Balazs, the Misshapes and Heatherette designers Richie Rich and Traver Rains.

Love debuted new songs from her upcoming Linda Perry-produced album including "How Dirty Girls Get Clean" and the title track, "Nobody's Daughter."

She also belted out a few Hole classics, including "Celebrity Skin" and "Miss World."
