Softdrinks major Coca Cola is planning to enhance the production of its 'Diet Coke', in view of the increased demand for the product, particularly in urban markets. //

Though diet coke contributes just one per cent of the company's total softdrink production, Coca Cola is looking to come out with a new package, considering the demand from customers, Coca Cola India, Area Operations Director Ashok Namboodri said today.

He was here to distribute prizes to the regional winners of a 'Fanta' contest organised by the company.

Annual softdrink sales in the country stand at 18 crore units, with Coca Cola enjoying a 58 per cent market share. The softdrink Fanta, contributed 40 per cent of the total sales of the company, with a huge demand for the drink in Tamil Nadu, he said.

Coca Cola also topped in the orange flavoured category, with a market share of 45 per cent, he added.
