Childhood Cancer can Lead to Chronic Health Problems Later in Life: Study

aving interventions come at a price - one that can take a heavy toll on the survivors' quality of life, and reduce their life expectancy.

The results emphasise the need for ongoing monitoring of young cancer patients so subsequent problems can be diagnosed and treated early, the authors said.

The study appears in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
