Chennai Hospital Treats Pakistani Blue Baby

A blue baby from Pakistan was given a new lease of life by doctors in the Indian city of Chennai at the Sri M.G. Ramachandra Medical College and Hospital.// Fifteen-month-old Maxwell Qayyum was suffering from a restricted flow of oxygenated blood. He was operated upon in Chennai, and he is reported to be recovering. Dr. K.R. Balakrishnan, a cardiologist, along with a team of pediatricians conducted the surgery.

The baby, accompanied by father Qayyum, who is a teacher, and mother Aster, has now been discharged from the hospital and will go home to Karachi this week. Shabina Mustafa of the Garage School in Karachi is reported to have facilitated the treatment for the child.
