Chemical Firms are Secretly Paying Scientists

A British scientist was a consultant for a chemical company from a long time, he was doing a study on the possibility of developing cancer in the industry.//

On Friday, the Guardian said, Richard Doll an epidemiologist, who died last year was known for having associated smoking and lung cancer, was blamed in 1800 for having received $1,500 as daily consultation fee from Monsanto Corp.

However by Monsanto's payroll, Richard Doll wrote on his investigations on potential cancer-causing properties of Agent Orange made during the Vietnam war by Monsanto to an Australian commission.

Guardian claimed, chemical Manufacturers Association, ICI and Dow Chemicals have paid fees to Doll for a certain review made that cleared vinyl chloride for having any cancer links except cancer of the liver.

The news papers said that Doll’s colleuges are disagreeing to these allegations which might be done to discredit Doll, and one of them said that Doll was honest with his work with the Chemical industry and generously donated his fees to Green College,Oxford.
