People worldwide are suffering from cancer. Virgin money life an insurance company in UK has come out with its new insurance policy exclusively to cater the needs of cancer patients // . Richard Branson’s insurance cover "The big V" declares that it is 45% cheaper when compared to other insurance cover programme.

The incidence of cancer in UK is very high and every one out of three people suffer from cancer. Institute of cancer research at UK said that age plays a major role in developing cancer; every one out of six people below the age of seventy suffer from cancer. Although the risk rates are very high among the British 65% of the people are without any strong financial back up to support them during financial crisis.

But 85% of the cancer death rates are people who are 65 years. And these people would have already reached their retirement age and would not be working.

The terms and conditions of the policy are that a man who is 35 years old, non-smoker in proper health opting for 100000 pounds worth insurance policy for a period of 25 years need to pay 23.06 pounds monthly. This is very cheap when compared to the monthly installments of the other insurance policies.

The big V opts for a new approach which is called the stage payment. It is the same for both men and women. In this money is paid stage by stage upon diagnosis of cancer. At stage one during early diagnosis of cancer 10% of the money is paid, during intermediate cancer diagnosis 25% of the money and the advanced cancer stages the balance amount is paid by the company. The main idea is that reduced payment results in decreased premiums. This is very useful because due to the recent advancements in the medical field many cancers have high rate of successful survivors and will be beneficial during the treatments.
