Cancer Causing Herpes Virus At Last May Have A Cure

Twin studies in the Journal Of Clinical Investigations show that certain form of herpes virus called Kaposi sarcoma– // associated herpes virus (KSHV) that can cause cancer, may be treated with by glycyrrhizic acid (GA) for total recovery.

KSHV is a form of herpes virus that can cause cancer by lying suppressed in the infected cells of the affected person. Numerous vaccines are being developed regularly to treat all sorts of viral infections, which prevents or treats any active infection. While treatment can cure the spread of any active virus, treating viral infections that lie latent inside the cells is very difficult. These viruses may lie latent in the infected cells for considerable length of time and may become reactivated to result in painful conditions.

According to these researchers from Medical Virology Section, Laboratory of Clinical Infectious Diseases, US, glycyrrhizic acid can successfully treat the latent herpes virus.

The acid is a component of licorice and reduces the latency of the virus.

According to the researchers, this new treatment can be the starting point of treating latent viral infections.
