Birth mark awareness created by internet helped to treat Cavernous hemangioma

Mrs. Louise Baxter who found a birthmark in her child Matilda found it rapidly increasing in size and used the help of internet search to understand the birthmark in her child. Though the doctors whom// she contacted said her not to panic after a little internet browsing and help from Birthmark Support Group website she contacted Great Ormond Street hospital, London and the hospital physician treated Matilda with a combination of steroids which made the swollen vessels dilate. The doctor confirmed that Matilda was suffering from Cavernous hemangioma and the doctors at Great Ormond street hospital treated her with steroids.

Cavernous hemangioma is an abnormal growth of blood vessels in the deeper skin lesions mostly appear during birth as slightly brown colored region differentiating from surrounding areas, within some years they grow rapidly and increase in size and a Cavernous hemangioma present in the eye lid can cause blurred vision leading to vision loss.
