After travelling Asia and causing havoc the bird flu has spread its wings over the Crimean peninsula. The cases have been detected in Ukraine.

This has sent panic waves in the government as well as public. //

To ascertain the severity of the flu tests are now being conducted to determine if the virus is the deadly strain that has killed almost 70 people in Asia.

A state of emergency has been called for by the Ukrainian president in some parts of the Crimean peninsula. This follows more than one-thousand wild and domesticated birds having been found dead.

In order to limit the spread of the outbreak quarantine has been established around affected areas.

Chickens, turkeys, geese and ducks were among the birds found dead over the past three days.

Maria Miroshichenko, head veterinarian in the Crimean region says,”Measures are being taken after the virus was detected, including the use of disinfectant in affected places, and medical tests on people who had contact with poultry”

Taking about the state people say that it is the first time it has been detected in Ukraine. However experts had issued a warning that the virus could be carried by migratory birds as they head south for the winter.
