Bird Flu Risk In Europe, Middle East And Africa

The UN food agency has issued notice urging countries to intensify surveillance and prepare for emergencies due to risk of spread of Bird Flu Virus from Asian countries to Europe, Middle East and Africa.// Though the initial risk would be for the poultry animals they are wide chances of the virus may mutate and may cause infections to humans.

Mutation of the virus is very dangerous and requires immediate control and elimination of the virus because each time the virus passes from bird to bird; it has the opportunity to mutate in to a very infectious and deadly form to humans and can easily spread between people. This mutation can trigger a pandemic that could claim the lives of millions of people across the globe. The control efforts should ensure that no pandemic human infections occur due to bird flu.

Wild water birds flying from Siberia, where the virus has recently spread, may carry the disease to the Caspian and Black Seas
