Bird-Flu Claims Its 12th Human Victim In China

China has reported its 12th victim of Bird-Flu, though ambiguity prevails as to how the person might have contracted the virus. //It is believed that the virus may have spread after contact with sick birds. Apparently, the man was admitted to the hospital after signs of pneumonia.

Bird flu has undoubtedly crippled poultry stocks in Asia, and news of outbreaks in Africa and Europe are also rife. Contact with infected poultry remains the most prominent cause of the spread, according to widespread reports.

Though the virus cannot transmit easily from one person to another, there is a lurking apprehension of the virus mutating and sparking of a pandemic in global proportions.
