Bill Gates pours in funds for diarrhea treatment reseach

A San Francisco nonprofit pharmaceutical company was given $46 million to develop its research on innovative treatments to deal with diseases // which cause diarrhea which is incidently the main reason for the loss of lives of almost two million chiidren around the world.

The pharmaceutical company One World Health based in San Fransisco gets the grant for developing new drugs that would help to slow down fluid loss from the intestines. The conventional treatment for diarrhea involves rehydration to counter the loss of fluids from the body. Dehydration which is the immediate aftereffect of severe loose stools ,can be life threatening to both infants and young children. One World Health in their effort to develop more drugs which would curb fluid loss from gastro intestinal tract hopes to complement current treatment manifesto instead of opposing it.

One World will work with partners across the globe including the International Centre for Diarrheal Disease Research in Bangladesh it was revealed the Organization’s program director Sue Wilson.
