Better Communication Ensured Between Humans and Computers

Computers still are considered to be a high tech machine and are not user friendly by some even today. Hence manufacturers are working hard to make it otherwise//. There is a big generation gap which leaves some in a state of despair and confusion. Dr J?rg Voskamp, from Germany's Fraunhofer Institute plans to create a computer which would be able to read one’s emotions. A sensitive PC is a research project and is titled so because it intends to improve the interaction between man and machine. This is mainly tuned to react to or respond to what their users feel.

This system consists of sensors in a glove which measures the temperature, skin conductivity and a belt to read the pulse. In order to develop the computer users were requested to play a game and their emotions are tracked and interpreted by the computer. During these tests the computer asks the users about their current feelings. Such computers can be used in e-learning, gaming and, more seriously, for monitoring people like air-traffic controllers. A sensitive computer could alert workers that one of their colleagues is under extreme stress and prevent any life-threatening human error before it takes place.
