B.C. Government Funds To Initiate Changes in Emergency Rooms

The B.C government has provided $7 million towards development of some of the province's busiest emergency rooms promising some long-awaited changes //.

According to the incoming president of the B.C. Medical Association an increase in long-term care beds and acute care beds would help to provide a solution to the existing problems.

However opinions differ, with Dr. Margaret MacDiarmid hoping that new agreement with government would go towards increased funding for family doctors as well as towards development of the information technology is part of the agreement.

She especially stressed on the importance of communication between the medical association, the government and the health authorities.
