Australia awaits US FDA reports on ADHD drugs

United States has asked the US Food and Drug Administration to study the safety of the drugs used in the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) following reports that the drug usage // causes cardiovascular diseases such as strokes and heart attacks. The US committee would meet on starting of february to review the safety of ADHD drugs. The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) in Australia is responsible for the safety of drugs and has said that the TGA // would take action after the US committee submits its review report and TGA feels that it is not going to start a separate enquiry to investigate the drug action but , had asked their countries physicians to report of any adverse effects reported by their patients taking this drug. Dexamphetamine sulphate is the mostly used ADHD drug and it is widely used in Australia.
