Assam To Write To Medical Council On Admission Irregularities

Assam government will write to All Indian Medical Council on alleged irregularities in the admissions to post graduate courses in Assam Medical College Hospital at Dibrugarh //, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said.

He told reporters here that three students were given admission to the post graduate courses in the college on the basis of a letter allegedly given by the Assistant Director of All India Medical Entrance Examination that was later found to be fake.

Sarma claimed that a racket was going on in the admission to post graduate courses on the basis of Central quota and the Medical Council and other concerned authorities will be informed about it.

Three students who had failed to qualify in the All India Entrance Examination for admission to various medical colleges were allotted seats in the Assam Medical College Hospital from the 50 per cent all India quota seats.

He further said that the state government would also set up a three-member committee for MBBS examination reforms.
