Asian Alternative Treatments For Cancer On The Rise In Europe

Yoga, Acupuncture, Ayurveda, Chinese movement therapies such as Tai Chi, Detox diets and nutritional counseling are just some of the commonly used alternative treatments many cancer patients are opting for all over Europe. //Perhaps, this is because it’s strongly perceived that patients respond better to the conventional medical treatment for cancer with the combination of some of these alternative treatments.

Different researches have highlighted that alternative treatment for cancer patients is especially high in younger people and the better educated.

A Recent study highlighted that cancer patients who use alternative medication do not often consult or inform their general practitioner about their alternative therapies. The Cancer Society has stressed that it is important that cancer patients discuss with their practitioners any alternative therapies they may be using to improve their conditions, especially as some of the therapies could interact with the prescribed medication.

Several reports on the use of alternative medication by patients in general have found that the lack of awareness on these treatments is still very high. Many patients believe that sometimes some of the expensive alternative therapies that are used instead of the conventional ones could be more effective.
