Approval imminent for Herceptin in Alberta

The Alberta Cancer Board has indicated that the Klein Government is all set to give the approval to fund the drug, Herceptin, for early stage breast cancer.// The spokeswoman of the board, Lee Elliot said, they were awaiting the outcome of the clinical trials in the United Kingdom before advising the $40,000-per-patient drug regime to the entire province.

Presently Herceptin is available to those patients who are in dire need of the drug, suffering advanced stages of cancer.
