Antibiotic from crab blood indentified ,,,,,,,,

In this era of newer infection, we get to see day after day, discovery of antibiotics that could sustain the growing resistance of the bacteria is a rage.

Thanks to the researchers of singapore, they have identified the protein in the blue blood of crab that can fight bacteria. Infact they have cloned this protein that can kill the bacteria.

They have found that this protein comes in contact with the outer membrane of the bacteria and create a very strong binding relationship in doing so they make a hole and kill the bacteria in a very short time.//

Professor Ho Bow of the National University of Singapore had mentioned that inspite of the fact that the cells from the blood of horseshoe crabs have been used for more than 25 years to test for the presence of bacteria in pharmaceutical products and medical devices, the discovery of binding and killing properties are new.

This new protein is highly effective against gram negative bacteria and even a microscopic dosage can kill 100 billion bacteria in 15 minutes. This shortness of time for this protein to act against bacteria also helps to prevent the resistance.

"It has very good potential as a useful therapeutic against bacteria infections if it can work in humans," Ho said.
