Answer on SARS 3 to 4 weeks away

The World Health Organization said that it should take three to four weeks for it to fully understands about SARS in China. Since mid-February, an international team from WHO has been working with the Beijing government and now WHO are a full partner with China in the investigation of SARS. China has 1,435 cases of severe acute respiratory syndrome - SARS, accounting for about half of the global total. The WHO teams are working to have access to information in Guangdong province, where the epidemic began in November. //

They also said it isn't clear whether SARS is transmitted through feces, urine, blood or a combination and why some sufferers have infected more than 20 people. China has been criticized for delaying information about SARS. Health matters are normally the responsibility of the provinces, and the government adopted a national reporting system for SARS only three weeks ago. However at this stage 12 laboratories around the world are working together, and 80 clinicians treating people with the SARS virus have continuously been exchanging information.

Canadian researchers during the weekend first published the entire genetic sequence of the new type of corona virus thought to be the cause of SARS. Officials at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released their own sequencing of the virus' gene code Monday.
