Alcohol a potential carcinogen: knocking on the door: pay heed!

Alcohol consumption is related to liver malfunction and now it has another danger lurking behind it: cancer.According to a study by French scientists it has been found that alcohol consumption is // a major cancer-causing agent that is responsible for many types of cancer.

Scientists found that excessive drinking raises risk of cancer of the mouth, larynx, oesophagus, liver, colon and breast.

As mentioned on the onset that, "Alcohol is underestimated as a cause of cancer in many parts of the world." It was also said by Dr Paolo Boffetta, co-author of the review, affiliated with international Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in Lyon, France.

The researchers behind the study are Boffetta and Mia Hashibe who found the risk of cancer increases proportionately with the consumption of alcohol.

According to other studies it has been found that moderate drinking is linked with lower risk of cardiovascular disease therefore instead of quitting researchers say that people should drink responsibly.

The American Heart Association recommends that if you don't drink, you should not get started. If you drink, you should drink only in moderation.

A healthy diet with low fat, zero trans-fat and high fibre foods such as whole grain foods is heart-healthy. Therefore the key to health is to eat well and balanced diet should be consumed.
