AIDS to be tackled through Computer Games

UNICEF, the United Nations children's agency has launched the first online game in Kiswahili, with the aim of tackling //the spread of HIV and Aids.

The game is named as "What would you do?" (Ungefanyaje?) and it takes players through several different scenarios so that he importance of prevention and testing is understood.

According to the UN estimates around 80% of young people do not know how to protect themselves from Aids.

Africa has the largest number of HIV infected people in the world with 2.3 million HIV-positive children.

Swahili is the language of over 100 million people across several east African countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Unicef game allows players to choose from different options as two male and two female characters embark upon relationships.
