90 Brands of Pet Food Recalled from the Market Following Death of 10 Animals

Pet food is in bad light after the death of 10 animals following the consumption of pet food that caused kidney failure. This event has sparked// a nationwide recall of pet food. Veterinary offices have been at their wits end answering queries from owners of pets.

Menu Foods Inc., the manufacturers of many varieties of pet food, marketed under several brand names has recalled 50 brands of dog food and 40 brands of cat food. The "cuts and gravy" style products, usually sold in cans and pouches, are marketed across the nation by popular retailers - Wal-Mart, Safeway and PetSmart.

The Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning to refrain from using the products which have been listed at menufoods.com/recall. Further, owners have been cautioned to rush their pets to veterinarians if the animals portrayed signs of kidney failure.

Menu Foods is still at a loss to plug the source of the problem. Yet their fears hinge on an ingredient provided by a new supplier. Menu foods have subsequently ceased to use the ingredient.

Paul Henderson, Menu Foods' president and CEO said, "We take these complaints very seriously. We will do whatever is necessary to ensure that our products maintain the very highest quality standards."
