5 Year Old Paralyzed Victim Forgives 50 Year Old Man Who Shot Her

In what can be called as an extreme act of generosity, Kai Leigh Harriott, paralyzed and confined to wheelchair, forgave the man who had shot her and shattered her spine//, three years back. In a face-to-face encounter, in the court, she further expressed that what he had done to her was wrong.

The little girl who was emotionally aroused and broke down crying, soon recovered after she sipped a glass of outer. In her subtle yet strong way, she turned to Anthony Warren and said 'What you done to me was wrong…..but I still forgive him.' The accused was greatly moved and pleaded guilty for his action which had paralyzed the girl.

Kai Lee Harriot, was a tiny little girl who was able to walk and run until the tragedy happened 3 years ago. She was sitting on a porch, unmindful of the conversation or rather the argument between Anthony Warren and the first floor residents.

Angered by the argument, he returned at about 11pm and shot three times at the house, expressing his feelings of anguish. Accidentally, one of the bullets hit three year old Kai, who was sitting on the porch with her sister. Very soon, the bullet shattered her little spine, following which she lost all sensation from below her chest. Warren was sentenced to 13-15 years in prison and 5 years’ probation for his unintentional act.

'Hopefully, one day, as medicine makes new headways in neuroscience, Kai may eventually be able to get up from her wheelchair and walk again, unaided. I am humbled by her benevolence. She will always be an example to me of how good and untainted a human can be. I am 50 and she is five - yet she is light-years ahead of me,' confessed Warren.
