A suicide bomber blew himself up in a Pakistan Army training centre Wednesday, killing 35 recruits and injuring about 40, state-run and private television channels reported, quoting military sources. //

The attack occurred on the elite Punjab Regiment's training centre in the Dargai area of the Malakand district.

The district, which borders the tribal territory of Bajaur, is where the Pakistani Army bombed an Islamist school on Oct 30, killing 80 people and alleging they were terrorists with links to the Taliban and Al Qaeda in neighbouring Afghanistan.

But the fiercely independent and staunchly Islamist tribes of Bajaur rejected the charge, claiming the dead were all local students, aged 7 to 21, except for their pro-Taliban principal, who was 34.

ARYOneWorld TV said all entry and exit points in the Dargai area were sealed after the bombing.
