,,Chemicals in clear plastics can cause learning difficulties,,

In a recent study that came out in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives had brought out the// detrimental effects of clear plastics on human beings.

Bisphenol-A (BPA) is a chemical founding the clear plastics that are used as food grade materials for making air tight containers, drinking water bottles, even feeding bottles for infants. The scientists from Yale School of Medicine did the study to find out about the long-term exposure to BPA.

The researchers have found that low doses of BPA in female rats lead to a lot of side effects such as inhibition of induction of estrogen by the synaptic connection in the hippocampus of the brain. This may lead to impaired memory as well as confusion in the sexually differentiated behavior patterns.

The researchers of the study feel that the results show that long-term exposure to BPA contamination may affect the human beings as well. This may be in the form of impaired levels of estrogen in the brain that may lead to different conditions at different ages.

Pregnant women who may be exposed to BPA contamination may give birth to children with learning difficulties. Long term exposure to BPA in the elderly may lead to age-related neuro-degenerative diseases for example Alzheimer disease, which is also related to inhibited function of the hippocampus
