ST. LOUIS (PRWEB) May 07, 2013
yurbuds®, a company rooted by its strong connection to the running community, is showing support for those affected by the tragic events at the Boston Marathon by donating all website proceeds on May 8 to The One Fund, at a minimum of $10,000. Benefitting the athletes and their families, The One Fund was created by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino and has raised more than $28 million dollars to date.
On the three week anniversary of the marathon, the yurbuds team rallied together to run #BostonStrong through the city of St. Louis. Donning “INSPIRE” shirts, everyone in the office honored Boston Marathon runners unable to finish the race by setting out to run 26.2 miles. Though the goal was set, the yurbuds team continued running for a total of 107 miles, equal to more than four marathons. They were greeted by smiles and cheers from supporters along their way.
“As avid runners and previous Boston finishers, the tragedy resonates strongly with our team,” said Daniel DeVille, Director of Marketing for yurbuds. “We are humbled to honor and give back to fellow members of our community.”
The donation will begin at 12am EST on May 8 and continue until 12am EST on May 9.
“We hope this gives our fans, partners and customers an avenue to support the Boston community,” said DeVille. “Together we can do our part to help runners and their families through this tragedy.”
