XLHealth Appoints New Vice President of Contracting and Provider...( BALTIMORE July 1 /- XLHealth owner of...),Health

BALTIMORE, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- XLHealth, owner of one of the nation's largest Medicare chronic condition special needs plans and a leader in improving the quality of care for seniors with chronic illness, announced today that it has appointed Karl Broussard to serve as its vice president of contracting and provider relations. In his new position, Broussard is responsible for the establishment, strategic planning, and management for the company's Medicare Advantage chronic condition Special Needs Plan, Care Improvement Plus. He will also oversee the development and management of relationships with key medical groups, hospitals, and physicians contracted with Care Improvement Plus in the six states in which it operates.

Broussard has more than 25 years' experience in the healthcare, business, and finance industries. Prior to joining XLHealth, Broussard served nine years in various executive roles at Coventry Health Care, most recently as vice president of network development with the company's Vista health plan. In that role, he managed all aspects of Vista's Health Plan network operations and network development as well as Coventry owned non Health Plan products and entities. This oversight included HMO, PPO, Individual, Medicare, Medicaid, Healthy Kids, and Workers' Compensation products for the state of Florida. Broussard's experience also includes positions with Independent Physician Strategies, MedPartners, Inc., FamilyPlus Health Plans of Georgia, Inc., and First Health, Inc.
