uBiome is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Spencer Wells, a leading geneticist, anthropologist, Explorer-in-Residence at the National Geographic Society and Frank H. T. Rhodes Class of '56 Professor at Cornell University, to the company’s Advisory Board.

“Spencer brings extraordinary technology and research experience, we are excited at this great addition to uBiome’s Advisory Board” said Jessica Richman co-founder uBiome.

Dr. Wells brings a breadth of expertise to uBiome’s management team with outstanding scientific credentials, including graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Texas at Austin, a PhD from Harvard University, and postdoctoral fellowships at Stanford University and Oxford University. He is the leader of National Geographic’s Genographic Project, which has collected and analyzed more than half a million DNA samples from people around the world to determine how humanity came to populate the Earth.

He brings an in-depth understanding of genetic research and the importance of Citizen Science projects like uBiome.

In addition to Dr. Wells, uBiome’s Advisory Board is made up of several prominent researchers and subject matter experts including Dr. Joseph DeRisi, Dr. Jonathan Eisen, Dr. Pablo Valenzuela, Linda Avey, Dr. Larry Smarr, and Dr. Meghana Gadgil, MD.
