MUNDELEIN, Ill., July 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Sysmex America, Inc., a leading medical diagnostic instrument manufacturer and information systems developer, today announced the appointment of Jim Cusack as Director of Business Development and Strategic Alliances, said Ralph Taylor, Vice President of Marketing & Medical Affairs, Sysmex America. Cusack will serve a key role in managing the company's existing business partnerships and in identifying new alliances that strategically complement Sysmex's portfolio development and enhance the company's U.S. products and services offering, added Taylor. Cusack will report directly to the leadership of Marketing & Medical Affairs.

Prior to joining Sysmex America, Cusack primarily served in a business development capacity for Leica Microsystems, Inc., a Division of the Danaher Corporation; USC Consulting Group LLC; and Abbott Laboratories. In each of these companies, his responsibilities included the assessment, cultivation and negotiation of a variety of partnerships and collaborations with pharmaceutical and biotech companies as well as commercial reference laboratories. Cusack's finance and healthcare industry experience was gained through his associations with Bay City Capital, LLC and Dain Rauscher Wessels, where he directed venture capital funding analysis and equity research respectively.
