Stress Expert Explains the Secret to True Happiness

PITTSBURGH, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Researchers at the University of Rochester, NY recently made the surprising discovery that money, looks, and fame don't actually make people happier. The researchers tracked 147 college graduates by investigating their goals and happiness a year after they had graduated. The students were then evaluated again one year later. The study showed that the acquisition of external goals not only didn't bring about the sense of happiness expected, but in many cases actually brought unhappiness. Students who achieved internally focused goals such as personal growth and strong relationships were significantly happier.
