Date:7/14/2009

SALEM, N.H., July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Boston based MassMEDIC recently appointed Roush Life Sciences President Tom Taylor to chair the trade organization's Board of Directors. Taylor is an industry veteran with extensive experience in developing and marketing disposable medical, diagnostic, and laboratory research products for the global life sciences market, and is a recognized authority on practices and trends in the medical device sector.

"Tom's experience and success in the medtech industry make him an outstanding choice to lead MassMEDIC," said Thomas J. Sommer, President of MassMEDIC. "The medical device sector faces some serious challenges in the coming year, and we look forward to his leadership and counsel."

The Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council (MassMEDIC) was established in 1996 by medical device company executives interested in promoting the unique interests of the Bay State's vibrant medical technology sector. The organization has grown to over 300 members, primarily manufacturers, product developers, suppliers, research institutions and academic health centers.

"I am very honored and excited to support MassMEDIC and our member companies. This is one of the premier medical device trade organizations in North America and it provides a significant resource to many regional manufactures and suppliers," Taylor stated. "MassMEDIC has a long history of being very active on government affairs affecting our industry at the federal and state level. The organization also hosts a wide variety of networking events and provides a wide range of free publications to our members. I encourage any life science or medical device company to visit MassMEDIC.com and see what we have to offer."

Before joining Roush Life Sciences in 2008, Taylor was President of Nypro Life Sciences, a division of Nypro Inc., a global manufacturer of custom plastics offering integrated contract manufacturing. Taylor also served as Vice President of the OEM Healthcare Business Unit at Millipore Corporation. In 2007, Taylor was selected to travel with Massachusetts Governor Patrick for the Life Sciences and Clean Energy Trade Mission to China.

Roush Life Sciences is a division of Roush Enterprises, Inc., whose holdings include product engineering and development supplier Roush Industries, Roush Fenway Racing, Roush Performance Products, and Roush Manufacturing. Roush Life Sciences designs and develops laboratory research products and medical devices. Additional information is available at www.roush.com.
