Date:2/26/2010

Hospitals and hospital systems turned to Orion Health™ in record numbers in 2009 to help them quickly, accurately and cost-effectively integrate electronic patient data from disparate systems.

Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) February 26, 2010 -- Hospitals and hospital systems turned to Orion Health™ in record numbers in 2009 to help them quickly, accurately and cost-effectively integrate electronic patient data from disparate systems. December 2009 was a record month for Rhapsody sales for the company, and this momentum looks set to continue into 2010. As healthcare providers implement new electronic medical record (EMR) solutions and prepare to participate in health information exchanges, they are increasingly turning to the Orion Health Rhapsody® Integration Engine for a proven, off-the-shelf, standards-based solution to conserve technical resources.

Paul Viskovich, President Orion Health North America and EMEA says there are a number of trends contributing to the upturn in sales. “As a result of the increase in e-medical record systems, hospitals and health systems, both public and private, are looking to optimize the way they share, move and use clinical data to improve all aspects of their business and the welfare of their patient’s health,” Viskovich adds.

Orion Health technology is allowing these customers to create healthcare information exchanges that leverage electronic clinical data and maximize existing partnerships to improve access and delivery of healthcare services. Viskovich notes that customers report saving hundreds of man-hours per year by graphically mapping interfaces, automating the data exchange and reporting process, and easing troubles
