In 1994, President Bill Clinton signed into law Parents' Day, the fourth Sunday of each July, as a national day of commemoration, as established by the US Congress and recognizing the crucial role of parents in the raising of children. Parents' Day provides an opportunity for children and adults to honor both their natural parents as well as other parental figures, including step-moms, step-dads, and adoptive and foster parents.
