BINGHAM FARMS, Mich., July 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- my1HIE(R) (My One Health Information Exchange) -- and the physician organizations who participate in the Health Information Exchange -- have significantly enabled the State of Michigan to achieve a ranking of 3rd nationally for the use of e-prescribing, and is poised to expand its role in Southeast Michigan, the State of Michigan, and beyond.
In a recently-released report, Surescripts, which operates the country's largest national electronic prescribing network, ranks the State of Michigan 3rd in the nation in the use of e-prescribing behind only Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Last year, Michigan was ranked 5th in the nation. A key factor in the growth of e-prescribing in Michigan is the exponential growth of my1HIE(R) -- the largest e-prescription network in the state. my1HIE(R) now has approximately 1,000 physicians, representing six physician organizations who are active users of DrFirst Rcopia electronic prescription management functionality. Together, the network currently generates approximately 120,000 prescriptions monthly, and has logged over 1.8 million e-prescriptions to date.
Physician Organizations that are currently using My Workspace(SM) -- the physician web portal through which my1HIE(R) delivers its online solutions include United Physicians, Olympia Medical Services, Continuum Management Services, Huron Valley Physicians Association, and Oakland Physician Network Services. The Detroit Medical Center has recently selected my1HIE(R) technology and is in the process of integrating My Workspace(SM) into its network. By selecting my1HIE(R) as the Health Information Exchange for their members, Physician Organizations are playing an active role in the use of technology and how their members use it to manage their practices and deliver superior healthcare.
