Brings More Than 30 years of Healthcare Management Expertise
PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Portico Systems, the leader in Provider Network Management solutions, today announced the addition of Jon Wampler, former president and CEO of PacifiCare of California, to its board of directors.
"Jon's deep knowledge and experience working with one of the country's largest HMOs is a tremendous asset to Portico Systems as we continue to aggressively grow our company, and enhance our solution offerings to address emerging market needs," said Ned Moore, CEO of Portico Systems. "With more than 30 years of experience touching many aspects of the healthcare business, Jon is an outstanding addition to our board."
In addition to heading up two divisions of PacifiCare Health Systems, Wampler held multiple leadership roles at Humana, MetLife Healthcare Network and Spectrum Emergency Care -- working side-by-side with both health plan administrators and physicians.
"As new trends like transparency, consumerism and pay-for-performance emerge and re-shape the healthcare industry, managing provider networks effectively will continue to grow more complex," said Wampler. "Portico Systems is the recognized leader in helping health plans adopt and manage new market demands with an innovative, end-to-end approach that's already saving some of the country's largest health plans millions of dollars a year. I'm looking forward to working with Portico's management team to help shape the company's go-forward plan, and capitalize on new market opportunities as they arise."
Wampler joins Moore and three other existing board members: Bill Pocklington, EVP and director at Portico; Steven R. Burns, former partner in Accenture's Health Services Practice; and John Loftus, EVP and managing director of Safeguard Scientifics' Technology Group.
