Integrated Medical Systems Ships World's First 'Suitcase' Intensive Care Unit to U.S. Army
Date:8/10/2009

SIGNAL HILL, Calif., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Integrated Medical Systems, Inc., a medical technology systems integrator transforming critical care, announced that it has shipped the first two FDA-cleared, award-winning MedEx 1000(TM) units to the U.S. Army's Aeromedical Research Lab where the units will undergo airworthiness testing, certifying their use for en route care of patients aboard aircraft.

"This is a major milestone for the MedEx 1000 program, and a great accomplishment for the government-industry team that made it possible," said Todd Kneale, president and chief operating officer of Integrated Medical Systems, Inc. "Yet another step towards transforming critical care, this delivery demonstrates the maturity of the product and the company's production capability for what is the world's most sophisticated, yet lightweight, easy to use, and affordable medical system." Frank Goodman, vice president of engineering for the company, added, "We're confident the government's rigorous test program will demonstrate the superiority of the MedEx 1000(TM) over any clutter of stand-alone or networked devices, confirming once again that the only way to simultaneously increase safety, ease-of-use, reliability and maintainability, while reducing weight, volume, cost and clutter, is through system integration."

The company plans to deliver several more units for expanded test and evaluation by year end, as production ramps up to meet market demand.
