iMedica Corporation Announces the Release of Patient Relationship Manager 2009
Date:3/30/2009

Enhancements maximize and automate physician practice reporting, collections and reimbursement; MDs gain financial edge during economic downturn

DALLAS, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- iMedica Corporation, a leading developer of healthcare software solutions for physician practices, today announced the availability of its Patient Relationship Manager(TM) (PRM) 2009. PRM 2009 is the latest version of iMedica's award-winning Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management (PM) solution.

"PRM 2009 is tailored to address the business and clinical needs of physicians, practice managers and allied health professionals in small-to-medium sized practices," said Michael Nissenbaum, President and CEO of iMedica. "Given the recent economic downturn and commitments made through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), there's no better time for practices to invest in a tested and integrated EHR/PM solution."

PRM 2009 features enhanced usability and processing speed, smoother workflow for lab orders and results, improved knowledge database editing and the ability to chart a patient visit note and create a "superbill" in a manner similar to writing a progress report. On the practice management side, PRM 2009 introduces a cleaner superbill with UB-04 functionality, splitting superbills by service site and integrated credit card processing.

PRM 2009 also helps physicians become eligible for incentives, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) e-prescribing initiative and the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI), through which physicians can easily earn up to four percent on Medicare reimbursements. Because iMedica automates compliance and documentation, physicians can qualify and receive incentives from both programs with no additional work.

"We have completed our release process for PRM 2009, having it tested and proven by hundreds of physicians within hosted and client server models across the US," said Nissenbaum. "This new release is a result of iMedica's commitment to the continued improvement of the clinical, financial and operational performance of our installed-base clients."

PRM 2009 enhancements include:

  • Automated PQRI and e-prescribing tools -- Allows for up to a four percent earning bonus on Medicare reimbursements. iMedica automates compliance and documentation for both PQRI and e-prescribing programs with no extra work for physicians or support staff.
  • Even more powerful workflow management -- Speeds up lab orders, e-prescribing, collections and more, while ensuring that important results and tasks aren't forgotten.
  • Increased flexibility -- Maximizes workflow and efficiency and boosts quality of care with more flexible exam documentation, coding and knowledge base.

The PRM 2009 single-application, single-database solution, which is built on Microsoft's .NET technology, builds upon the previous version of iMedica's PRM software.
