iHealthSpot, Inc was named a winner in the 2009 American Business Awards in the Interactive Multimedia category for its Orthopedic Patient Education Library.
Margate, FL (PRWEB) June 25, 2009 -- The STEVIE's (American Business Awards) are the nation's premier business awards program, recognizing the best of American business. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. were eligible to submit entries to the ABAs - public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.
More than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories, including Most Innovative Company, Best Management Team, Best New Product or Service, Best Interactive Multimedia, Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program, and Best Corporate and Environmental Responsibility Program. iHealthspot was honored with the prestigious award in the "Interactive Multimedia" category for its "Interactive Orthopedic Patient Education Library". http://meddb.eznetpublish.ihealthspot.com/VideoDemos
Of the entries submitted, approximately 1/3 had scores high enough to make the finals and fewer still were among the winners. iHealthSpot shared the stage with companies such as Microsoft Corporation, E*Trade Financial, YouSendIt, Inc., and OnStar.
iHealthSpot's winning interactive library includes more than 350 written conditions, 200 illustrations and 75 videos with detailed 3D animations for orthopedics, pain management and physical therapy, displayed with an intuitive male or female "clickable body" interface. The videos are 3-4 minutes in length and include detailed visual information on causes, symptoms, surgical and non-surgical treatments and rehabilitation for each condition in easy to understand language. The content has been developed entirely in-house using the most detailed 3D model of the human anatomy available today and is currently live on hundreds of physician websites throughout the country.
Steve E. Meadows, MD, CMO and board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon who directed the effort, commented, "We are thrilled to be named a winner in the STEVIE's (American Business Awards). This prestigious honor is a testament to the quality and accuracy of our orthopedic patient education content including our animations and video product and recognizes the development team who worked so hard creating it. It also reinforces our goal to help all physicians and therapists to better educate their patients through the interactive content on their websites."
Stevie Award winners were honored during the annual gala held on Monday, June 22 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Six-hundred executives from across the U.S.A. were in attendance as CEO, Mary Hall and Dr. Meadows accepted the award on behalf of iHealthSpot. The ceremonies were also broadcast on radio nationwide by the Business TalkRadio Network and hosted by Cheryl Casone of Fox Business Network.
Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected Stevie Award winners from among Finalists in final judging that concluded June 3. Finalists were chosen by business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in April through early May.
