Dr. Sanford Siegal, known to generations as the Cookie Doctor(R) behind the Dr. Siegal's COOKIE DIET(R) weight-loss system, receives enthusiastic crowd of weight-conscious followers of his diet regimen

MONTREAL, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- ET Canada, the Canadian version of Entertainment Tonight, was on hand as renowned physician, author, and weight-loss expert, Dr. Sanford Siegal, greeted fans and autographed copies of his new book, Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet Book: How a Doctor and His Cookie Helped 500,000 People Lose Weight Fast, at Fairview Pointe Claire Centre in Montreal, Quebec, on Saturday, June 13th. The ET Canada segment aired throughout Canada at 7pm last night.

"Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet has a tremendous following in Canada, particularly in Quebec, so I'm not surprised by the large turnout. People were excited to meet the physician who created the original cookie-based weight-loss diet, and to pick up a copy of his new book," said Audrey Fishman, a former customer who now sells Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet products in Canada. "Many of our customers have been awaiting the release of Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet Book, and we're proud to have been selected to host Dr. Siegal's only personal appearance in Quebec."

Fishman, who lives in Montreal, discovered Dr. Siegal's COOKIE DIET(R) last year in a mall in Boca Raton, Florida. When her niece tried Dr. Siegal's cookies and lost weight, Fishman and her sister, Helene, decided to join her on the diet. After her sister and she each lost more than 40 pounds, Fishman contacted Dr. Siegal and obtained permission to bring Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet products to shopping mall kiosks in Canada. She now has locations in Fairview Pointe Claire Centre and Galeries D'Anjou in Montreal, and will open her first kiosk in Toronto this month.

"The reception we received from the public and the media in Toronto and Montreal was beyond my wildest expectations," said
