Healthwyse Clinical and Financial Software Implemented by Disability Services of the Southwest

Disability Services of the Southwest chooses HealthWyse based on its track record of improving patient care.

Wilmington, MA (PRWEB) August 18, 2009 -- HealthWyse, LLC of Wilmington, Mass. and Disability Services of the Southwest, of San Antonio, Texas (DSSW) announced today the successful implementation of the HealthWyse integrated clinical and financial software solution. Founded in 1991, Disability Services of the Southwest (DSSW) is one of the largest providers of support services to people with disabilities and the elderly in the State of Texas. DSSW's services include personal attendant services, nursing, and therapies, as well as assistance in home modification, adaptive aids, job coaching and supported employment.

DSSW was looking for a single software program that could handle the complex clinical and financial operations that encompass a traditional Medicare home care operation as well as hourly private duty services and unique Medicaid waiver programs. DSSW discovered that there were very few software programs that could handle both the intermittent and hourly shift work well. During their software due diligence evaluation, DSSW narrowed the software vendors down to HealthWyse and a very large national vendor.

"One of the primary reasons we selected HealthWyse was because of their focus on home health software." According to Lynne Brooks, Chief Operating Officer at DSSW, "HealthWyse is not spread out into other areas of health care software such as physician practice management. They devote 100 percent of their time and attention to the many facets of home health."
