There are many social consequences associated with being overweight or obese and overweight or obese individuals, who are often trying to learn how to lose weight fast, can become targets of harsh weight-based stigmatization. Weight-based stigmatization comes in many shapes, sizes and forms, but however it appears, it can do significant damage to the physical and mental health of the target of the stigma. Repeated teasing, bullying, open hostility and weight-based discrimination has often been examined in the context of the workplace or other domains, but new research indicates that the most prevalent weight-based discrimination may come from close relationships such as family members, spouses and friends. Healthy weight loss is the first priority for the Diet Doc team. Educating patients on how to lose weight fast and safely rapidly through the use of prescription hCG and healthy diet plans is the basis of the Diet Doc hCG weight loss program.
This study, published by the Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity at Yale University in September 2007 edition of "Health Education Research", explored the complexities of obesity stigmatization to gain insight as to where the most weight based prejudice can stem from. Researchers Rebecca Puhl, Corinne Moss-Racusin, Marlene Schwartz and Kelly Brownell, noted that most obesity stigmatization research covered prejudice within areas such as the workplace; however, their data suggests that the worst stigmatization occurs within close relationships. The research covered information collected from 318 participants in the study about experiences with weight stigmatization, their perceptions of weight-based stereotypes, how participants felt about being overweight and how participants felt weight-based stigmatization could be remedied. The results of this comprehensive research indicated that while overweight and obese persons may experience weight based bias from many areas, efforts to reduce the stigma associated with being overweight or obese should be targeted at close relationships such as parents, spouses and close friends. Diet Doc patients can end the constant struggle with discrimination and stereotypes through healthy weight loss that is safely monitored by Diet Doc physicians, nurses and certified nutritionists. hCG diet plans combine prescription strength hCG with education on how to lose weight easily and effectively and nutrient rich meal plans to help patients succeed in reaching their healthy weight loss goals.
