Lauderdale market is now open for franchise sales. Qualified franchisees can purchase the home-based franchise for a total investment of less than $10,000.

Broward County, including the Ft. Lauderdale area, currently has over 200 franchise and seven area director opportunities available for sale. Recently, eMed-ID welcomed its first area directors to the Ft. Lauderdale market, Cheryl Babcock, CFE, and her husband, John C. Williams. Area Director opportunities are available starting at $29,950 for a minimum protected territory of 200,000.

Cheryl R. Babcock, CFE, is the founding director of the International Institute for Franchise Education in the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. Cheryl designs and develops executive education programs to help franchise leaders develop and enhance their capacity to take on 21st century franchise challenges and expand their knowledge and awareness of best practices in ethical franchising.

"While the economy continues to falter, it's important to understand that opportunities do exist for those entrepreneurs like Cheryl and John interested in starting their own low cost, home-based business," said Lonnie Helgerson, President & COO, eMed-ID Franchising, LLC. "eMed-ID welcomes Cheryl and John to the Ft. Lauderdale market, and we are thrilled to have a team of their caliber spearhead the company's South Florida growth."

In 2006, 2.5 million people were injured in traffic accidents, which represented the leading cause of unintentional injury and admittance to an emergency room in an unconscious state, according to the Bureau of Transportation. Also, as reported in the Journal of AHIMA, consider the average time it takes to track down a traffic accident victim's family members and obtain their medical history with notification typically ranging from more than six hours to two days.

National company growth goals for 2009 include recruiting a minimum of 20 Area Representatives, representing more than 400 franchises throughout the country. Three-year term financing is being offered for approximately $38 a week. In addition, the franchise provides Veterans a $2,450 discount and a three percent reduction on financing interest.

Consumers who purchase the tax-deductible eMed-ID package for $69.95 receive the eMed-ID USB wristband, four eMed-ID caregiver cards, two eMed-ID In Case of Emergency (I.C.E.) refrigerator cards and a bound report. In addition, eMed-ID is the only medical identification product that also provides customers with an optional legally-binding healthcare surrogate, HIPAA release and living will. eMed-ID also partners with the "Silver Alert" program, modeled after "Amber Alert," to help protect an increasing number of citizens with cognitive impairments.

eMed-ID is guided by a seasoned management team with in-depth experience in both franchising and technology. Led by Lonnie Helgerson, the recently launched franchise benefits from management's extensive background in building Ident-A-Kid(R) into the world's largest child safety franchise.
