MIAMI, Nov. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Siegal's Direct Nutritionals, LLC, worldwide distributor of Dr. Siegal's COOKIE DIET® products and operator of web site CookieDiet.com (www.CookieDiet.com), today announced that all five flavors of Dr. Sanford Siegal's ever-popular hunger-satisfying cookies are available on Samsclub.com, the web site of Wal-Mart's membership discount club, Sam's Club.

Physician, author, and weight-loss expert Sanford Siegal, D.O., M.D., conceived the idea of a diet based on a hunger-controlling cookie in the early 1970s while writing a book about natural substances in food that are hunger-suppressing. He decided to try to engineer a food specifically intended to control hunger and enable his patients to stick to the low-calorie diet that he advocates.

After several years of experimentation in his family's kitchen, Dr. Siegal came up with a particular mixture of amino acids that resulted from the combination of certain food substances. He baked his formula into a cookie and gave it to a few patients. Dr. Siegal's COOKIE DIET® was an immediate success. Within a few years, his South Florida medical practice had grown to include 14 clinics and he was supplying his cookies to hundreds of other doctors throughout North America.

In 2007, Dr. Siegal began offering his cookies, shake mixes, and other products through CookieDiet.com (which has more than 110,000 members) and retail stores.
