Widely reported issues with the da Vinci surgical robot system have prompted the Rottenstein Law Group LLP to introduce the da Vinci Lawsuit Information Center at http://www.davinci-lawsuit.org, a website featuring the latest lawsuits news and a comprehensive da Vinci FAQ page.
“In addition to research studies pertaining to the device’s use during hysterectomies and prostate removals, there is a U.S. Food and Drug Administration warning regarding the da Vinci surgical robot,” said Rochelle Rottenstein, principal of the Rottenstein Law Group LLP, citing the FDA’s announcement that in 2013 it had received more than 4,000 adverse event reports about the da Vinci, according to a Nov. 11 Businessweek story.*
The da Vinci system typically uses four robotic arms made up of precision surgical tools and a camera, designed to allow a surgeon to perform procedures less invasively compared to traditional methods. However, the robot system has been found to cause potentially dangerous side effects, such as internal burns, nerve damage and lacerations, according to a Dec. 4 Bloomberg story.**
The Rottenstein Law Group LLP encourages those who believe that their da Vinci robotic surgery harmed them to visit its FAQ page for quick answers to their robotic surgery questions.
