Bariatric Advantage High Protein Meal Replacement Clinical Study Presented at European Congress ...( Bariatric Ad...),Health

Bariatric Advantage presented the results of the clinical study that was performed using the Bariatric Advantage High Protein Meal Replacement in patients preparing for weight loss surgery at the 2009 European Congress on Obesity (ECO).

Amsterdam, Holland (Vocus) June 17, 2009 -- Bariatric Advantage presented the results of the clinical study that was performed using the Bariatric Advantage High Protein Meal Replacement in patients preparing for weight loss surgery at the 2009 European Congress on Obesity (ECO). The poster presentation of the study was the first presentation of this data and is the first study completed on U.S. soil specifically looking at the amount of liver shrinkage resulting from a two (2) week diet using high protein meal replacements in this patient population.

The study was created by John Dixon, MBBS, PhD. and Jacqueline Jacques, ND and was performed in Houston, Texas at the Davis Clinic with Dr. Robert Davis and Dr. Garth Davis and managed by Jamie Carr, RN.

The study utilized CT scan to identify the beginning size of the liver prior to the two (2) week diet as well as at the conclusion of the diet to identify the difference in size.

Results: The average reduction in liver volume across all participants was 15.9%, confirming that this program provided major reductions in liver volume in association with modest weight loss.
