Irvine, CA (PRWEB) December 30, 2009 -- Bariatric Advantage, a Division of Catalina Lifesciences, Inc. Announces The Promotion of Bret Petkus to Vice-President of North American Sales. "Bret has an excellent background in healthcare and in particular Bariatric Surgery. He has been working for the company since November 2008 on a consulting basis and has proven to be a very valuable resource to our organization," stated Thomas Kinder, CEO of Catalina Lifesciences, Inc. parent of Bariatric Advantage.

Mr. Petkus began his healthcare career in 1997 with Johnson and Johnson, Ethicon Endo-Surgical Division in Sales and Sales Management. He moved to Inamed Health in 2002 to help develop the market for the Lap-Band. In 2005 he left Inamed to become Vice-President and General Manager of DayOne Health, a free-standing ambulatory surgery center designed to cater to bariatric surgery. In 2008, he started a The Petkus Group to fill consulting needs in the bariatric surgical marketplace.

Bret's appointment is effective immediately.
