As Environmental Regulations Gather on the Horizon, Crothall Services Group Launches Green Initiatives to Assist Hospitals

nciding with the energy analysis is Crothall's GreenChoices program. Crothall recognizes that its customers often need help to focus resources on green practices. The overwhelming majority of hospital administrators are not even planning to participate in green programs like Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) or Practice Greenhealth because of fears about the cost and a lack of knowledge about green programs.

According to Kutteh, the GreenChoices program was created to respond to the worries of healthcare administrators by promoting Crothall's current green programs and developing new ideas that can further reduce hospitals' footprints through both incremental and capital projects.

"The new cap-and-trade legislation sent a signal that changes could be coming soon that will have a real impact on healthcare operations," Kutteh said. "What exactly the future holds is anyone's guess, but we need to be prepared to take advantage of opportunities to help our customers thrive."
